Is a Thin Walled Socket Required when Installing Hitch Ball in Equal-i-zer WD # EQ37041ET

It says that the thin walled socket is recommended...do I have to use it?

Although a thin walled socket, like part # EQ70-00-4800, is not required to install the hitch ball on the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution # EQ37041ET, it will make the job easier.
Typically the torque specs for installing a hitch ball are pretty high so it benefits to have a sockect that easily fits inside the spring arm mounting points. the torque rating you will need to use will be attached to the hitch ball.
