Installation of Pulse Preventer for Electric Brake Controllers on 1992 Ford F-150
Question:
Hello- I am trying to install this pulse preventer on my 1992 Ford F-150. My truck has the factory pre-wired plug and connector for the brake controller. I cut the wires at the stoplight switch at the brake pedal but see that the stoplight switch wires are a much smaller gauge like 22g than the pulse preventers wires like 10-12g. Am I wiring this preventer in at the wrong spot? Thanks!

On your 1992 F-150, the pulse preventer # 5501 should be on the cold side of your brake light switch after the point where the brake controller prewired harness is spliced in. You the wires on the pulse preventer are definitely a thicker gauge so you just need to double up your smaller gauge wires for the butt connector to crimp them properly.
