Using Derale Transmission Line Compression Fitting Kit D13031

Question:

Hello, installing a transmission cooler, 1995 jeep yj , 350 sbc, th350 transmission. I am in the process of making up my transmission cooling lines, 5/16 hose lines to 3/8 hose to cooler. I have read in other reviews that these fittings are prone to leak around the thread on the hose barb side. Have you ever had this happen or had any feedback on this? Thanks

We have not had any feedback concerning the Derale Transmission Line Compression Fitting Kit # D13031 being prone to leak. If the outside diameter of your transmission line is 5/16" on your 1995 Jeep YJ then these fittings are going to work for you. To make certain there is no leaking what you can do is use liquid thread tape (Leak Lock) to seak the threads on the components expect for the one that secures the compression ring. You can also use standard thread tape, just make sure it is wrapped around the threads in the same direction of the threads.
