Is Passive Inlet Vent Needed With Ventline Powered Vent in Camper Shell?

Question:

folks, if I get the 12 vdc 6.25 inch powered circular vent.. should I install a passive inlet vent as well to insure best condensation venting in an aluminum skinned camper shell? In your estimation would a neoprene foam spacer provide sufficient strength to mount the vents to the shell roof?

When installing the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP a passive inlet vent such as # HMAV2-AVT2 certainly would not hurt though it is likely not necessary, though it would be difficult to say for sure without knowing the rest of your ventilation, the size of the camper and how much condensation you are likely to produce.

In regards to your question about the spacer, you are correct that a spacer will be needed for the thin camper shell.

I've added links to video reviews of these parts for you to take a look at.
