How to Determine if Kat's Block Heater Install will be from Top or Bottom of Vehicle
Question:
I HAVE A 2010 KIA 5 DOOR AND WANT TO INSTALL A BLOCK HEATER. ACCORDING TO A DIAGRAM IN THIS PAGE IT INDICATES THE INSTALLATION HOLE IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE, REAR POINT ON THE MOTOR. CAN THIS INSTALLATION BE DONE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ON THE GROUND OR MUST IT BE DONE FROM THE BOTTOM WITH IT ON A HOIST?

I really wish Kat's would give us that information but they don't have that specific of install instructions for their block heaters. Best option we can point you towards is to check out the engine block in the area Kat's recommends for the install and determine if you think it would be easier from above or below the engine.
If you end up jacking up the vehicle use jackstands like part # PTW41021.
