Recommended 3,500 Pound Timbren Axle-Less System for Home Built ATV Trailer
Question:
Hello, I am building an 7x12foot off-road atv trailer. I will be pulling it with either a Toyota Tacoma or 4runner sitting on 32x11.50x15 tires. I plan to run the same size tire on the trailer. I am thinking trailer will be approx. 1100# and the gear will be approx. 1300#-1500# for a total gvwr of approx 2600#. I am thinking about the Timbren 3500# kit. Whats the difference between the 3500# and 3500#HD? What mounting brackets do i need? I plan to have electric brakes. Or do you recommend a different setup? Thanks

Going with a Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System for the trailer you're building is a great idea. It will provide the trailer with a smooth, quiet, and safe ride and can eliminate the need for a standard axle. This will in turn allow for maximum ground clearance and a low deck height.
Since you are wanting electric brakes on the trailer, I recommend a 3,500 pound kit that includes electric brake hubs, of which we have two systems available; The Timbren # A35RS545E for a Straight Spindle and # A35RD545E for a 4 Inch Drop Spindle.
The difference between these two sets is simply the type of spindle they use. The 4 inch drop spindle on # A35RD545E is going to provide lower ground clearance than the straight spindle on # A35RS545E. Otherwise the two kits are identical, both of which have a 3,500 pound capacity, feature a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and include the electric brake hubs. Both sets include everything needed to install them to the trailer and they can be either bolted or welded to the frame.
I have attached an installation video on this system so you can see exactly how it installs and operates.
