How to Move Boat From CE Smith Boat Trailer Without Boat Ramp

Question:

Hi. I plan to purchase your Item # CE48810 for my 11 foot 3 inch, 240 lb. sun dolphin pro 120. The pond I frequent the most does not have a boat ramp, so I need to get it to the water. Most boat dollys are for kayaks. Do you have any suggestions? Is a trailer dolly a bad idea? Something like your Item # MT70881. Or do I need a boat dolly not a trailer dolly. Can a trailer dolly be used on regular ground, not just pavement? I also would like it to be portable, fitting in my suv would help. Lastly, if the trailer dolly has a 1-7/8 inch ball and the trailer has a 2 inch ball, does that work? Many thanks in advance...

The CE Smith Boat Trailer # CE48810 is a great choice to transport your Sun Dolphin Pro and using a trailer dolly will absolutely work for you. You could use the Rack'Em Trailer Dolly # RA20 if you wanted as the tongue weight of your trailer will keep it on the smaller hitch ball of that dolly. However, I do think there is another option that would be better for you.

I recommend the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover # STC-V211. It will act as a jack so you can unhook your CE Smith Boat Trailer # CE48810, has gears so you can adjust for an incline, has a powder coat to resist corrosion and you can add drill attachment # TVDA if you would rather power the crank with a cordless drill than by hand. The Trailer Valet 5X does not use a hitch ball to attach to your boat trailer, but instead clamps onto either side of the tongue. I've included a link to a video review of this dolly for you to take a look at as well.
