Can the Off Road Turn down Exhaust System be Used in New York on a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I know the off road exhaust system is for off road but if i put it in on my 2011 chevy silverado 5.3L Would it be street legal ny. will it pass inspection if i use a off road exhaust. would i still use my cat or is it cat back Its the ony exhaust system i can find right now

At this time MagnaFlow does not have a cat-back exhaust system other than the Off-Road Turndown Cat-Back system you referred to for the 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 5.3L engine and extended cab Long bed. Likely there will not be a system produced due to the relatively few trucks with the extended cab long bed that are produced.
The Off-Road Turndown Cat-Back System, # MF17101, will fit on your vehicle and is rated at under 95 decibels but it is close to the 95 decibel federal limit for sound. You will need to check your local and state laws to be sure that the system will be legal for use in your location. You will also need to keep in mind that most states require that the exhaust be exited to the side or rear of the vehicle is there is any kind of cap, camper or cover installed on the bed of the vehicle, due to the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning.
Your stock catalytic converter is utilized with cat back systems and includes clamps and hangers for installing onto your OEM exhaust system.
