I wanted to know if this mirror would scratch the chrome on my mirrors or if the Longview mirror would be a better fit. Any help is appreciated. Thank You for your time.

The CIPA Custom Towing Mirror # 10901, actually comes with a protective soft strip to prevent scratching the factory mirror on your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. We actually answered a similar question to yours that features a video showing this protective strip (see link).
Also, to further prevent scratching, you will want to make sure that the mirror is clean and free of dirt and debris. It also would not be a bad idea to apply a coat of wax to further prevent scratching before attaching the CIPA Mirror to your truck.
