Recommended RV Roof Vent with Fan for 14-1/2 inch Square Opening

Question:

Im would like to replace the AC unit on my travel trailer with a fantastic fan or equal. The rough opening is 14.5 x 14.5. x 1.75 thick ceiling. What options do I have? Can I shim the opening to 14.25 and then will the vent flange extend over the shim onto the roof?

The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # FV802250 referenced in your question will work nicely to replace the AC unit on your trailer. It is designed (like most RV vents) to fit a 14-1/4 inch x 14-1/4 inch rough opening, but will work just fine on your 14-1/2 inch opening. The 4-1/2 inch garnish that's included can also be trimmed down to better fit your 1-3/4 inch thick ceiling.

This is a really nice roof vent that features a variable-speed, 12V fan that will circulate the air in your trailer. The manual speed knob will let you control the airflow and the 10 clear fan blades will still allow sunlight into the trailer.
