Dimensions for Top Handles on Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder # LA-401

Question:

Im looking at getting this for my camper, but I need to know a few dimensions I cant find here. What is the distance between the ladder and the point where it connects to the roof of the camper? Also, Stromberg Carlson mentions that this can be lengthened. Is that true? If so, how can I do this?

The distance between where the Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder # LA-401 mounts to the roof directly across to the downward part of the pipe measures about 17" inside to inside as you can see in the attached picture. It does have a little bit of an angle though so where the ladder connects to this top piece is about another inch or so further out.

This ladder does have a customizable length, but only if you need it shorter. It does not come with any way to lengthen the ladder itself. When I checked Stromberg Carlson's website it had this same statement. There is an extension piece # LA-148 that you can use to make getting on the ladder easier, but it is not a permanent installation.

This ladder also comes in Black with part # LA-401BA on our site.
