Surco Safari Rack Roof Basket for a 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

I have universal crossbars on my 2016 jeep cherokee but I had to get extra long metric bolts to mount them because the factory rails on the jeep cherokee are very wide. Will the surco baskets mounts fit on my factory rails? I can provide diensions if you need them.

I checked with Surco and they actually recommend the 50 inch long by 45 inch wide Safari Rack # SPS4550-1101. With this set up the basket will actually attach to the side rails of the vehicle, not the crossbars, and you may even have to remove the crossbars to mount the basket if they end up interfering with the installation.

Basket # SPS5060-1101 would not be a fit because it is too wide to mount to the vehicle properly.
