Recommendation For Best Kuat Platform Rack That Works With 2018 Subaru Outback and Draw-Tite Hitch

I have a 2018 Subaru Outback limited 3.6R with a Draw Tite hitch part 75673. I'm interested in the Kuat platform style hitch racks. I understand the Transfer won't work, but will the Sherpa or NV work with that hitch/car combo?

Both the Kuat NV hitch platform bike rack, Item # NV22G, and the Sherpa hitch platform bike rack, Item # SH22G, are versatile racks that hold 2 bikes by the wheels, are durable, and are easy to use. Both will work with your Draw-Tite Hitch, Item # 75673.

As you consider which is best for you, make sure to find your clearance from the hitch pin hole so that you get a rack that easily clears the back of your 2018 Subaru Outback. The Kuat NV Item # NV22G hitch bike rack offers 7-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole. The Kuat Sherpa Item # SH22G provides even more clearance, 7-1/2 inches.

Both racks will fit your hitch and should clear your bumper but they do differ in weight capacity and what size bikes they will hold. The NV platform rack holds 2 bikes with 60-lbs weight per bike and handles wheel sizes 25 inches - 29 inches with maximum tire width of 4.8 inches. The Sherpa platform rack holds 2 bikes with 40-lbs per bike and handles wheel sizes 25 inches - 29 inches with maximum tire width of 3 inches. The NV platform rack (52-lbs) is heavier than the Sherpa platform rack (32-lbs).
