Your Fantastic Vent model 8100ts doesn't have replacement parts available, so I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check for power functions. I reached out to the manufacturer and in addition to this, they said to check the circuit board. You may need to simply clean it and add some dielectric grease like # 11755 to help with electrical connection and keep dirt and moisture out. If there are scorch marks on the circuit board, then the board is fried and the entire unit will need replaced.

To replace the unit, I recommend the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Powered Lift # FV803350

My problem is the same as the problem described above. Dome constantly lifts and closes like it doesn’t know where it should be. Fan has wall mounted thermostat and rain sensor.

I have a fantastic fan with rain sensor that constantly opens and closes no matter what temperature the thermostat is set at. It keeps opening a little then closing a little. It is very annoying, can you help?

The rain sensor may just need to be rest. To reset the sensor all you need to do is disconnect the vent fan from power, let it sit for a few minutes, and then connect it again. I think this will resolve the issues you're having but if not please let me know.

@ChrisR I removed the fuse and let is stand for 10 min. and then replaced the fuse but the lid still wants to open and close every 15 to 20 seconds, not much but just enough that drive motor run up or down for a few seconds at a time. Is there any other cleaning or possible connections that could be the culprit? Thanks for you help. Bruce

@BruceC Thanks for the additional info. I reached out to my contact at Fan-Tastic Vent and he said that there's not much else you can check/clean. He recommend taking it up to a local service center to have it repaired or replaced.
