How to Use an AC Powered Mini Fridge in a DC Powered RV

Question:

Hi Conner, Thanks for the quick response! I’m just not sure what to hookup the inverter to, the refrigerator is in a slide out compartment all the way at the back of the trailer as far away from the battery as possible. The trailer only came with a group 24 automotive battery.

In order to convert the AC power your mini fridge uses to the DC power your RV runs on, I recommend the Three AC Receptacle Power Inverter part # WC3720. The power inverter is capable of handling up to 1000 watts of continuous power which should be more than enough for your mini fridge. It comes with 2 3 foot long DC cables with ring terminals already attached. The inverter has an auto reset feature built into the device in addition to cooling fans, and a low battery alarm.

I have attached a review video of the inverter for you as well.

You have a few options to power the inverter. You could either get a battery specifically for the fridge like you originally requested however you would also need a battery charger or at least a charge line to keep the battery charged. I recommend extending the wires on the inverter and running them to the nearest battery on your RV. The wires that come with the inverter are a 6 gauge wire with 3' of each lead so you will more than likely need to buy additional wire to reach your batteries. The instructions that come with the inverter will explain this a bit more in depth but if you have additional questions please just shoot them over.
