Will Reese Titan Extender Work With SportRack Ridge Bike Rack on 2017 Ram 2500?

Question:

Im considering the RP45018-48 inch hitch extender for my 2017 Ram 3500 crew cab with 2-1/2 inch receiver. I have a truck camper with 4 step torklift stairs. Distance from face of receiver to front of stairs is 41 inches. I intend to put the Sport Rack ridge swing 4 bike rack SR2415 on the extender. Does this sound reasonable? Suggestions?

The Titan Hitch Box Extension for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches # RP45018 will work well for you on your 2017 Ram 3500. You can cut it down to make the extension 41" from center of hitch pin hole to hitch pin hole and the SportRack Ridge Swing # SR2415 will be 9-1/2" from the hitch pin hole to the upright mast so you will have plenty of room.

The only thing to keep in mind is that when using a hanging rack like the SportRack Ridge, it's possible you'll need bike frame adapter bar # 64005 if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack. I've added a link to a video review of the adapter so you can see exactly how it works.
