Does the Lippert Components Solera Slide Topper Awning LCV000163289 Include Anti-Billowing Device

Question:

I am considering a 8.5 foot Solera topper for my TT. I have read about readers who have had problems with their topper billowing out while driving on the highways causing damage to the topper. Some manufacturers have an anti-billowing device that prevents this from occurring, does the Solera have such a device?

The Lippert Solera Slide-Topper Awning # LCV000163289 does not have an anti-billowing device.

My technical contact at Lippert/Solera advised that their awnings have enough spring tension to prevent unintended extension of the awning fabric, even when the RV is driven at highway speeds.

At the time of installation the awning roller should be wound fourteen rotations to put sufficient tension on the springs. This spring tension is what avoids the need for a solution such as an anti-billowing device.

To order the correct Solera Slider, select the fabric size that extends a minimum of 2-1/2-inches beyond each side of your slide box width.
