Does DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43102 Fit 2017 Silverado 1500 Custom
Question:
Does the DeeZee Tailgate - DZ43102 fit the 2017 Silverado 1500 Custom? 1 trim level below the LT. I’m surprised this truck didn’t come with a tailgate dampener from the manufacturer. 2nd do you have to put one on each side of the tailgate if it does fit or do you just need to purchase 1?

The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 was supposed to come with a tailgate assist on all models excluding the work truck models. If your truck does not have the assist function then the part # DZ43102 is the correct kit for you. We have confirmed that this is the case with our contacts at DeeZee.
You'd only need one of these as two would be overkill.
