Brake Controller Replacement Recommendation for 2006 Ford F-350 with Integrated Controller

Question:

I have a 2005 F350 with the factory brake controller with the emergency lever slid all the way over at the highest setting I am showing 3.3 volts at the back of the truck and it keeps reversing from positive to negative power I am using a Power Probe for the readings is it more than likely my factory brake controller that has gone bad

It sounds like it's time for a new brake controller as what you described sounds exactly like a damaged controller.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.

To install a brake controller like the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 in your 2006 Ford F-350 you will use the wiring harness # 3065-P.

The harness will plug it into the factory plug after disconnecting it from the factory controller, and then taking the truck to a dealership to clear the fault code that will appear. I have included a link to a Tech Bulletin that explains what they do at the dealer to clear the fault code.
