Is there a Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Chevy Equinox that Fits in the Same Place as the Factory Hitch

Question:

The Hitches you show are all mounted below the rear fascia. Original GM shows it to be raised HIGHER up and mounted WITHIN the Fascia. Do you have this style?

No, in this case the aftermarket hitches for the 2018 Chevy Equinox do not mirror the location of the factory hitch. Like you said the receiver on all the available options is below the rear fascia. The benefit though of an aftermarket hitch is that the hitch itself will be less than half the MSRP on the factory hitch and that does not include labor to have it installed if you choose to have the dealer install it. And the draw-back of the aftermarket hitches is limited ground clearance.

If you do go with an aftermarket hitch the most popular is Draw-Tite hitch # 76419. With this hitch only the receiver will be visible. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

And for trailer wiring you can use # 118750 if your Equinox is NOT a Premier model. If it is a Premier model use # 118759. These wiring harnesses will provide a 4-Way flat connector at the rear of the vehicle.
