When you are looking into Weight Distribution (WD) systems you will want to choose a WD system with a Tongue Weight (TW) range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.

Since the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of your trailer can be 3,500 lbs that would put your loaded TW between 350 lbs - 525 lbs. If you add a little more weight to account for weight behind the rear axle it you could possibly be looking for a WD system rated for 350 lbs - 600 lbs.

The Blue Ox # BLU45FR that you were looking at could very well fit that category and offer sway control as well.

When I recommend WD systems I try to find ones that have the sway control integrated into the system because when you use the friction sway control bar you cannot back up without removing it first.

For your application I recommend going with the Fastway e2 # FA94-00-0800 that has integrated sway control (so you can back up without removing anything), and has a TW range of 400 lbs - 800 lbs. The only extra thing you would need is a hitch ball. You can use part # A-90 for a 2" option, or for a 2-5/16" option you could use part # 63840 instead. A thin walled socket like part # EQ70-00-4800 is useful for installing the hitch ball due to the limited space.

Since you have a lift on your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 you may need a shank with a different Rise/Drop than what is provided with either system. I have attached a link to our selection of shanks for you to filter through as well as a helpful article on how to determine what is best for your application.

I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well for comparison.
