Comparing Blue Ox Acclaim and Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bars

Question:

Would Blue Ox towing arm BX 4330 work as well as the BX7380? It attaches to 2” ball and stows cleaner. P.s. hate the idea of automatic brake system.

The Blue Ox Acclaim part # BX4330 is a great tow bar that is similar in a few ways to the Blue Ox Alpha part # BX7380 that you also mentioned. The biggest difference is how the tow bar attaches to the tow vehicle. The Alpha slides into the hitch opening and the Acclaim installs on a hitch ball of a ball mount. If you prefer the ball mount style this would be a great option. Only real downside is that you don't have an easy place to store it if you are at a campground and want to drive the dinghy vehicle.

With the Alpha you can fold the tow bar up and out of the way in the hitch opening and it'll stay there till you need it. The Acclaim would either lay on the ground with one end still on the hitch ball or you'd have to store it somewhere in the RV.

One nice thing about the Acclaim though is that since it mounts on a hitch ball it can pivot side to side when connecting and disconnecting to make lining everything up easier.

An easy to use and install supplemental braking system is the Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR. You basically set it in the floorboard of the towed vehicle when needed and it will operate the vehicle brakes.
