Purpose of Camco Adjustable RV Screen Door Cross Bar CAM42183
Question:
does this bar open the door latch or is it just a bar to push on?

Expert Reply:
The Camco Adjustable RV Screen Door Cross Bar # CAM42183 and the other versions we offer such as white model # CAM42186 and extra-wide model # CAM42188 are simply protective bars to prevent accidental damage to a door screen.
These bars do not activate door latches/closures but they do a great job of stopping youngsters' hands from pushing on the screen surface.
These bars can be used singly or in multiples to give you a hands-free method for opening doors when your hands are full. Each one includes the mounting screws and installation is a snap, as shown in the linked video.
