Can Dual-Cam Sway Control Brackets be Mounted Rearward of the Chain Hanger Brackets
Question:
Is there any reason a dual cam wd hitch would be installed with the cam arm brackets mounted between the chain bracket and the trailer instead of between the truck and chain bracket? I have a 2010 silverado ext cab 4x4 towing a 30ft 2012 Flagstaff V-lite 7200lbs When i asked the dealer about the setup, i was told that they had to install it that way because of the V-nose on the trailer. i wanted to get your advise on it before i go drilling more holes in the trailer frame to move the cam brackets to were they should have been mounted in the first place

On the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, # RP66074, the brackets for the dual cam sway control that mount to the bottom of the trailer frame should be forward of the chain hanger brackets as pictured on the product page. Having them behind the chain hanger brackets would render the system ineffective and could cause problems when turning.
The system should be installed according to the installation instructions which I have link for you to view. I have also included a link to a video showing a typical installation. I am not sure why the V-nose trailer would necessitate installation in any other manner other than the typical method.
