According to the owner's manual for your 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, tire chains cannot be used on the vehicle due to limited wheel well clearance. However, the use of tire cables are allowed by the manufacturer so long as they are Class S compatible and placed on the front two wheels.
The correct size tire cables for your Equinox will depend on which size tires you have. The standard tire size that came on your vehicle from the manufacturer was a 225/65-17. If you still have this size tire then I recommend using the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains part # TC343DC. The Titan tire cables have a v-shaped pattern which offers greater tire coverage than the conventional ladder bar style. The cables will provide good traction in light snow and come with a set of rubber adjusters to ensure the cables remain seated properly. The cables are Class S compatible and come with a storage container.
I have attached a review/installation video of these cables on a similar vehicle for you. If you do not have 225/65-17 tires then please let me know what tire size you have and I would be glad to provide you with the correct set of cables.
