The Dexter Axle Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 10" - Left Hand - 3,000 lbs # K23-472-00 can be used on boat applications. More and more boat trailers are using the electric trailer brake assemblies because they are so much easier to maintain. The only thing to note is I recommend unplugging your trailer wiring from your vehicle before launching or retrieving your boat. Water and electricity don't play well, so as long as you don't have the connection while the trailer is submerged, you will have no problems with this assembly on your boat trailer. I recommend allowing a few seconds for water to drain after submerging prior to reconnection to protect your system. I also recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 on your connections to help keep moisture out of your connections.
