Parts Needed to Tow Tapered Nose 2018 Keystone Cougar 310RLS with Short Bed 2016 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I have a 2016 chevy silverado 2500hd crew cab with a 6.5 box. We just ordered a 2018 keystone cougar 310rls.We were talking to the cougar rep and also with the dealer, they both were saying that we didnt need a slider and that with this rv we could turn up to a 85 degree angle without any interference.Originally I was going with the demco auto slide, but talking with them we are now posibbly changing the pin box out to a gooseneck and installing a BandW gooseneck hitch in the truck. That would free up a lot of space in the box and also would be easier then trying to install a 300lb. 5th wheel plate every time you wanted to go camping.BandW also makes a 4inch offset ball if that would make any diiference. What do think?

I looked up pictures of the 2018 Keystone Cougar 310RLS and it does have a tapered nose which was designed specifically to allow short bed trucks turning clearance without needing a slider so a fixed hitch will work for you.
To convert the king pin to a gooseneck hitch will require an adapter like the # CAB-C5G which bolts to the pin box and gives a gooseneck coupler.
The correct gooseneck hitch to fit your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 is the part # BWGNRK1016 which I attached an install video for. An offset adapter like part # BWGNXA4085 would help give you a bit better clearance as well so it would be a great choice.
