Mounting Screws Keep Breaking off for HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit # HBA16-252-82
Question:
I purchased a Hydrastar brake actuator and everything is working great except that the Tek mounting screws keep breaking off. I have tried stainless and the zinc plated that came with the brake kit that i purchased and after one trip, all heads are broken off. The trailer is galvanized steel. I probably need a different screw type but thought you might have a recommendation. Thanks,

Glad to hear that the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit # HBA16-252-82 is working great for you!
What is most likely happening is that you are over torquing the screws. If you get them too tight that will actually damage them so that they break as you described.
I spoke with my contact at HydraStar who agreed that this would be the case and actually said that he has done the same thing at his shop.
