Available Types of RV-Rated Bike Racks for Use on Class B Motorhome

Question:

I have a pleasure way 20foot class B motor home with a 2inch hitch receiver. I am looking for a rack for 2 bikes, preferable one that folds away for easy access to double rear doors. The spare tire is mounted on the rear. Appreciate your recommendations and helpful website.

We can help you select a 2-bike hitch-mount bike rack that is safe to use on the back of your Class B motorhome. Due to the extra motion at the back of an RV (as compared to a passenger car) it is necessary to use a bike rack specifically made and rated for RV use. These specialized racks are made to be stronger in key areas, particularly the shank that goes into the hitch and that bears the total rack and bike weight.

Your best RV bike rack choice can depend on the design of the bikes themselves. We also have hitch racks, ladder-mount racks and bumper-mount racks like the Swagman # S64663.

For instance, for bikes with standard frame design (meaning with a top frame tube as on a "boys" bike) a wheel-and-frame-mount platform style rack like the Swagman Dispatch # S44FR can be the ticket. This rack has a center mast that folds down for cargo area access. This and all other 2-bike RV-approved hitch racks are shown on the linked page. I also linked a helpful article that you might find useful in selecting the best match for your RV and bikes.

You will want to note the actual weight of each bike too as carrier weight capacity varies.

Is there a bike rack for Roadtrek? Would it be the same as Winnebago class B Travato?

For a Roadtrek Class B, you will simply need an RV rated bike rack just like you would for the Class B Winnebago. I've linked the page to all the RV compatible options we currently carry for you to choose from. Pay attention to the features so you will be able to tell the distance from the hitch pin hole of your receiver to the closest part of the bike rack and also the security features to deter theft. If you have heavy bikes, e-bikes, or fat tire bikes those models will narrow your search.
