Can Light Truck Tires be Used on Fifth Wheel Trailer?
Question:
can I use light truck tires with proper weight rating trailer weight 12000lbs 16inch tires

Expert Reply:
Though you can use light truck tires on a fifth wheel trailer it is highly recommended you use trailer tires instead; trailer tires have an "ST" on them and are specifically designed with a stronger sidewall which allows both a higher weight capacity and higher air pressure.
For example, if you have a tandem axle fifth wheel and 16 inch wheels a great option would be the Kenda Karrier # AM10501, which have a load rating of F, which means four of these inflated to 110 psi would be able to handle a load of just over 14,000 lbs.
I have added a link to a help article on trailer tires for you to take a look at, as well as a link to our page with our available tires should you decide to go that direction.
