The Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater part # KH11482 is the correct heater for the 3.0L V6 engine in your 2003 Toyota Highlander. The block heater is a frost plug style heater meaning it's designed to replace one of the factory frost/freeze plugs on your engine block. The frost/freeze plugs are usually a gold colored circular disc that are pressed into the engine block. There are several frost/freeze plugs on the engine block but Kat's recommends using the plug located on the right front of the engine block which is labeled as "RF" in the attached photo.

Unfortunately, we do not have any specific instructions related to your 2003 Toyota Highlander as we have not had the chance to install one yet. Frost/freeze plug style block heaters are typically much more involved than a simple cartridge style heater therefore, I recommend you take the vehicle to your local mechanic for installation. You may also want to consider using the Kat's Heaters Plug Cover part # KH28405 to cover the plug on your power cord while not in use as this will prevent corrosion.
