How to Monitor Exhaust Gas Temperature EGT on a 2003 Chevy Silverado with 6.6L V8 Duramax Engine
Question:
I am interested in a Edge Diesel Evolution CTS2 Performance Tuner - 5inch Color Touch Screen with Swipe - CA Approved Item # EP85400. Will this tuner read EGT just by plugging into the obd-II or will I need additional hardware?

The California approved model of the Edge Diesel Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner is part # EP79YR, not part # EP69YR. The tuner will allow you to view the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) of your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado on the display but you will need a probe to send the data from the exhaust system to the tuner. For this I recommend the EAS Expandable Cable for Edge CS and CTS Monitors # EP98602 and the EAS EGT Sensor for Edge CS and CTS Monitors # EP98611.
The EGT kit is designed specifically for the above tuner and will allow for full access to your vehicles EGT readings. I have attached a review video of this tuner for you as well.
