Is the Malone SlingOne Kayak Storage System Suitable for Under Deck Storage?
Question:
What are the straps made of? Are they UV light tolerant? I have a set that rotted out in 2 years, the straps broke under the weight of a 10 ft kayak which was mounted under my deck so it got very limited exposure to UV. It failed none the same.

The Malone SlingOne Kayak Storage System - Wall or Ceiling Mount - 1 Kayak # MPG340 is not tested for UV light but is made of heavy duty 1.5 inch webbing. It is rated for a load capacity of 135 lbs and has a 1 year warranty. The system uses carabiners to support the weight so the straps are not worn down by twisting. Although it is not tested for UV rays, mounting under your deck should not be an issue.
