Question:

Hi I have a tri axle boat trailer and keep blowing tires on long trips. Running good year marathons 215 75 14 c load range which was the tire trailer came with new. Boat loaded with trailer weighs around 11k. Also tires are rated at 60mph would be very nice to have a higher speed rating.

The most popular ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire that we have to offer is the Taskmaster Provider # TTWTRTM2157514D. This tire has a load range of D (2,200 lbs at 65 psi), a max speed of 81 mph, and come with a 2-year limited warranty. I recommend going with this tire not only because of how reliable Taskmaster tires are, but also because of all of the positive reviews that this tire has received.

The most common reasons that a tire will blow are that it has been over/under inflated, it has been overloaded, it has been damaged (usually by hitting a curb) which weakens the sidewall, or the max speed has been exceeded.

If the tires that are blowing are in random places on your trailer then I would definitely make sure that you have the tires inflated to the manufacturer's recommended psi (found on the sidewall), that you are not overloading the tire, and that you are driving under the max speed rating.

If you have once tire that is constantly blowing then you should probably check the trailer suspension to ensure that the tire is wearing evenly and that your driving habits are not damaging the tire. Let me know if this is the case and I can try to help you pinpoint the issue.
