Does the oil pan need to be cleaned off and if so what do u recommend.

In order to promote adhesion and ensure the Kat's Heaters Pan Heating Pad part # KH24150 sticks to the bottom of your oil pan you will want to first clean the surface. For this, I recommend taking some brake parts cleaner or engine degreaser and spraying down the bottom of the pan then using a wire brush to break up any leftover material.
