How to Install Brake Controller Adapter # 22292 on a 2013 Ford F-150
Question:
I purchased from etrailer an electric trailer brake harness - code 22292 - Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adaptor for electric brake cotroller - Ford F150. I was to use it in a 2013 Ford F150. The plug on harness that connects to the factory installed plug under the dash does not fit. The plug cases are the same size. Which wiring harness should I purchase?

Yes, the # 22292 is the correct harness however, there is a technical bulletin about your wiring harness. These instructions should make your current harness work correctly, since the plug cases are the same size.
The Ford F-150 uses a brake controller harness that is similar to the Ford Super Duty. The connectors are the same but the pin out is different. The ground wire and brake light signal wire are in different locations in the vehicle connector.
The Solution: On the F-150, the ground wire is in cavity number 3 and the brake light signal wire is in cavity number 12. (See Fig. 1) On the Super Duty, the ground wire is in cavity number 11 and the brake light signal wire is in cavity number 10. (See Fig. 2) (Pictures of the Figures referenced are attached to this answer page).
I have the technical bulletin attached for you to reference. The model years on this help article aren't correct because the article is old, but its still the solution for the 2013 Ford F-150.
