Recommended Traction Device for a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic with 195/65-15 Tires

Question:

I am looking for tire chains for my 2014 chevy sonic LT, but Ive read in the owners manual that I shouldnt put any tire chains on there due to the low clearance of the vehicle.I myself have 195/65/15 on my car.

According to the owner's manual for your 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, tire chains cannot be used on this vehicle due to limited clearance between the wheels and vehicle's body. However with that being said, we certainly understand certain states and conditions require the use of them therefore the choice will be ultimately up to you.

Although tire chains are not recommended for use on your vehicle, other traction devices such as snow socks can be used and for a set that will fit your 195/65-16 tires, I recommend taking a look at the ISSE Hybrid Snow Socks part # TCH62. The snow socks provide good traction in both snow/ice and will not damage your wheels or create excessive noise while driving.
