Recommendation For Tail light And Marker Light LED Upgrade

Question:

I have a 1977 Great Divide 22 foot camper trailer and the tail light assemblies, marker lights, and wiring to the tongue. The existing tail light assembly is 14.75 inch wide 5.5 inch tall 2 inch deep OD. The markers are oval 2.5 inch X 1.5 inch OD. What lighting would you recommend? I was looking at Code #47-84-103. Could that work?

Thanks for the information you sent. I did some research on your 1977 Great Divide Camper Trailer and have a few recommendations for you to consider. My recommendations are not exact matches but I believe they will work for you.

For the tail light assembly, I recommend the Bargman Triple Tail Light, Item # 47-84-009. This light is 14-1/16 inches long x 6-15/16 inches wide x 1-1/4 inches thick. It is a recessed mount that has 2 red LED lights and 1 incandescent reverse light for your Camper Trailer.

If you are open to a longer tail light assembly, I recommend the Bargman Triple Tail Light, Item # 47-84-103, that you referenced. This light is 18 inches long x 5-5/16 inches wide x 1-1/4 inches thick. It is a recessed mount that has 2 red LED lights and 1 incandescent reverse light for your Camper Trailer.

Most marker lights are approximately 4 inches x 2 inches. Given this sizing difference, I recommend the Optronics Oval LED Side Marker Light, Item # MCL31RB. This marker light has 6 light-emitting diodes and features a snap-on lens. It mounts on industry standard 3 inch centers. This light is 4 inches long x 2-1/16 inches wide x 1 inches deep.

As I mentioned at the beginning, I do not have exact replacements for you. However, I believe that these would fit with some modification of the mounting locations. Before going forward, I would certainly check your measurements and make sure these lights will work for you. Since they are bigger than your current ones, you will need to drill some new holes. However, these new assemblies should cover the holes of your current assemblies. Besides the modifications needed to mount them, all these lights are pretty easy to install.

I have attached links to additional information to help you find the best solution for you.
