Recommended ST Trailer Tires for 1968 Monitor Trailer

Question:

I just bought a 1968 12’ Monitor Trailer. It currently has passenger tires on it which obviously isn’t ideal. I will be driving it on the expressway and on some dirt roads, pretty much year round. The tire stores around me do not carry trailer tires in stock and therefore I am trying to save me and my trailer a trip. Your help is much appreciated! Current tire is P215/75B15

For your 1968 12 foot Monitor trailer, I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TTWTRTM2057515C. This replacement tire is rated for up to 1820 lbs at 50 psi and speeds up to 81 mph. That load rating is for each tire, so you double that for your weight rating. These tires will fit on your current wheels.

You always want to run trailer tires at the max psi when inflated cold. So in the case of these tires you will always want to run them at the 50 psi level. You will want to be careful when having these tires balanced with your wheels because trailer tire balancing is not the same as vehicle tire balancing. You will need to utilize a pin plate adapter. I've attached an article to assist.

Let me know if you have further questions.
