The etrailer Cargo Bag - Water Resistant - 20 cu ft - 59" x 24" x 24" # 988501 is able to haul your skis in the way you mentioned with the skis sticking out. Doing this will allow the zipper closure to be exposed which could allow water or debris into your cargo bag.
This is not the best option for transporting skis. A roof box or ski and snowboard carrier.
