Does Bar Light at Rear of Trailer Typically Carry Running Light or Stop Light Circuit
Question:
I am rewriting a trailer with a 4 wire harness, the trailer has a center bar light below the gate. Is the bar light a running light or does it work as a brake light?

Most likely it's a running light. Typically a center bar is a clearance light that runs to the running light circuit. Wiring in a third brake light to a trailer is somewhat involved as you have to use a signal converter like part # 118158 to separate out the brake circuit from the turn signals.
I attached an install video for this converter for you to check out as well.
