Factory Trailer Hitch Receiver Mounted Cargo Carrier for a 2018 Lexus GX 460

Question:

I’m looking for a quality cargo carrier for the 18 gx460 I just bought. The hitch installed is the Lexus OEM. I’m concerned about the exhaust and also the way the door opens. I’ve searched your site but didn’t see the GX in any videos. I need at least 22-23” wide to fit my pelican cooler. Length can be 55-60” or so. Realistically looking for recommendations please. The 2018 Lexus GX 460 is a bit of an odd vehicle because of its swinging single door. I do have a solution that can work with the door.

If you're OK with an enclosed carrier, you can pick up the Yakima EXO Carrier, part # Y62VR. This is a 17.5-inch wide, 51 inches long, 100-pound capacity(or can be changed to 200 with a second level addition) enclosed carrier. But this will not work with your cooler.

The biggest feature of this cargo carrier is that it swings away from the hitch to the passenger side when moved away and should allow almost complete access to the rear of the vehicle.

If that is not long enough, I suggest the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # Y02483. This would allow you to turn the carrier of your choice into a swing away like the # Y62VR.
