Recommended Brake Controller and Installation for 2016 Ford Transit T250
Question:
Trying to figure out what exactly I’ll need. Popped off the center console cup holder and found a connector I believe is for the brakes. Pic attached. Looks like 6 wires. Which wires would hook up to the brake controller adapter? Do I just need a brake controller, and a adapter and I’m good? Confused... Van has factory tow package with 7 way

In your 2015 Ford Transit T250, there isn't a brake controller adapter that I'm aware of. You can connect a battery to your 7-way 5 o'clock pin and then check that harness with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. If there is power when connected and no power when not, you've found the correct wire. There is not a harness from any of our manufacturers that is a confirmed fit, so you will need to splice wires. If you can't find the correct fit, you can use # 5506 to wire your brake controller and battery to your 7-way. I've attached a video of our # ETBC7 installation and this kit will be the same minus the trailer connector.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional controller that will give you the same amount of braking pressure to your trailer as you give the brake pedal in your van and at the same time. This controller also has an LCD screen with great preset options for easy use. I've attached a video to assist.
