The two mounting holes on the Hollywood Racks Fork-Mount Truck Bed Bike Carrier # HRT970 are spaced apart 3-inches on centers. Each hole is 1/4-inch diameter. The linked review video will give you a very complete picture of the carrier features and installation. There are few bike racks that offer this kind of value.
This bike carrier works with any bike that has a quick-release 9mm front fork. Any bike type - road bike, mountain bike, etc - will work so long as it has the 9mm quick-release front fork.
Since you will be installing two of these on your open deck utility trailer where the hardware will be exposed to the elements I recommend using stainless-steel hardware. This will not only be plenty strong but it will also resist any corrosion from road salt, etc. Most full-service hardware stores carry a range of stainless-steel hardware.
The carrier also features built-in openings in the base that allow you to route a cable lock such as # e98891 to provide theft protection for your bikes.
