In order to choose the best weight distribution system for your towing setup, you will need to determine your total tongue weight. This number will include both the loaded tongue weight of your Wildwood Xlite Trailer (as if ready for a trip), along with any added cargo weight coming from behind the rear axle of your F-150. Ideally, this number will fall somewhere near the middle of the operating range on the system you choose.

I recommend using a tongue weight scale like the excellent etrailer # e99044 in order to accurately determine your trailer's loaded tongue weight.

For example, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET has a tongue weight capacity of 200 to 600 pounds. If you are able to let me know what the loaded tongue weight of your trailer is, I will be happy to make a recommendation that will work well.

I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of weight distribution systems. You can filter though the different rated systems by using the facets on the left side of the page. I have also included an FAQ on weight distribution systems that you might find helpful.

If the loaded tongue weight of your trailer is around 400 pounds, then the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET mentioned above will actually work perfectly. The 200 to 600 pound tongue weight capacity on the system will give you plenty of wiggle room in either direction to provide you with excellent weight distribution and sway control. This system includes the needed hitch ball and adjustable shank so nothing else will need to be added. I have attached a short video demonstration on this system that you can also check out.
