Is There a Harness for Brake Controller on 2016 Jeep Renegade?
Question:
Hi, after further review it looks like the Prodigy RF unit may be my only choice. I was looking at it again and saw that you might need the TR20117 tester to complete the install. I looked at that on your website and also the install guide. I have a question regarding the 7 way tester circuit layout. Is this layout for testing purpose only or is this the expected electric schematic for the prodigy? It does not match the wiring diagram for my Camp Inn Trailer so I’m concerned if I will have to rewrite both the trailer hook up as well as my vehicle connection?

All brake controllers on your 2016 Jeep Renegade, including one such as the Hayes # HA81742B, will need to be hardwired in as there is no compatible harness. Due to the difficulty in locating the stoplight wire it is recommended to get your brake controller professionally installed.
The brake controller I strongly recommend is the Prodigy P3 # 90195; it is the most popular model we carry due to its effectiveness and ease of use. It will activate your trailer's brakes immediately in proportion to your Jeep's brakes and offers three different boost levels so you can adjust your braking power.
The P3 levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts, and features an LCD display which is much easier to read than that of other controllers. This controller has been met with nearly universal praise; it has been reviewed by our customers more than 2,000 times and is averaging close to 5 out of 5 stars. I've added links to video reviews of this product for you to take a look at as well.
