Question:

On your website you #9 recommended best bike racks for a Yukon is the Thule 910XT, but on the Thule website is says there is not a recommended no hitch bike rack for the Yukon, which we woild prefer. Can you tell me why you would recommend this product? Is there an issue with the Yukon that has a work-around solution?

The Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier # TH910XT referenced in your question is confirmed to fit the 2000-2006 GMC Yukon. This is a really nice, trunk-mounted carrier that will allow you to transport 2 bikes of up to 35 pounds each. The 6 attachment straps will securely mount the bikes to your Yukon and the dual support arms provide excellent stability. This rack will work very well if you have the 2000-2006 Yukon.

If you hapen have a later model year Yukon, a better option will be the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack # HRF2-3. This particular trunk-mounted rack is designed specifically for SUVs and hatchbacks with its high-rise frame and multiple strap mounting options. It can secure as many as 3 bikes of up to 35 pounds each and features interlocking hubs with quick-release levers that will let you adjust the base to properly fit the contour of your Yukon's hatch.

I have attached a couple video demonstrations on both of these racks that you can take a look at.

Lastly, if you plan on carrying any children's, woman's or alternative frame bikes with either of these hanging-style racks, an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01 may be needed. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for improved ground clearance and level transport. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.
