Trailer Hitch Mount Platform 2 Bike Rack Recommendation
Question:
This model looks ideal for a senior citizen who has a problem lifting 2 bikes up to my regular carrier. However, I am concerned about the weight limit. My bike weighs 37 lbs and my wifes is 34 lbs., a total of 71. We would be 1 lb. over your max. Is your 70 lbs. absolute max? I could always take the seats off and save a pound. Thanks!

The best idea would be to go with a bike rack that has a higher capacity rather than to exceed the weigh limit of a rack or half to start removing parts from the bikes in order to stay under the weight limit. A similar bike rack with a 90 pound capacity is the SportRack, # A30901. You are correct about loading and unloading the bikes. A platform style rack is easier.
