Is There a Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for 1-1/4 Inch Class I and Class II Trailer Hitches

Question:

Do you have a dual hitch reciever for 1 1/4inch size? All i see is 2inch and bigger.

There is not a dual hitch receiver for the 1-1/4 inch receivers as they are not able to handle the torque due to the tongue weight location. The tongue weight of the hitch is reduced by 50% when using an adapter, so it really wouldn't be worth using for most applications.

Is the tongue weight reduced by half for all of these dual hitch receivers? Including the 2? What if the upper receiver is only holding 50 lbs? Would you explain how this works?

We do state that all of our dual hitch adapters will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent (if your hitch has a 300 pound tongue weight limit this is reduced to 150 pounds). This is due to the extra leverage and length that's created by the adapter, along with the simple act of mounting an additional component. All of this combines to decrease the stability of the connection point. You just need to make sure the combined tongue weight of your accessories and trailer don't exceed the reduced limit.
