Installing Replacement Fan Motor for Ventline Range Hoods

Question:

We got the old motor removed but attaching the new motor to the mount in the fan housing seems impossible withou being a contortionist and having a couple of extra hands. Any video or instructions may help. The mounting screws go through the motor and hold the motor together and need to line up with the mounting holes and a nut on top of the bracket which is only a finger width from the top of the housing. We tried to remove the housing from the hood but even with the screws all removed it wont pull loosethere are some metal tabs that are holding it against the back panel of the range hood. So we have no way to get the nut on top of the bracket and hold it to screw the motor screws into it.

I spoke with my contact at Ventline regarding installing the Replacement Fan Motor # BVD0278-00 on your Range Hood.

He stated that after removing the 4 screws that are holding the hood to the cabinet, you will then want to use a flat tool to straighten out the two tabs located at the blower housing rear. There are then 4 additional screws that are holding the blower housing to the hood top which will need to be removed, but it sounds like you have already done this. With the screws removed and the tabs you mentioned flatened, you should then be able to gain access to the nut for installing the replacement motor and tightening down the screws.

Please let me know if you still experience some issues and I will be happy to look into this further.
